First off, Jeff was right, it is very sweet and saccharine, but Saga helps to balance out the overall sweetness of Sugar, Salt and Pepper so that it's not completely overwhelming. I can't remember the last series that kept a stupid grin on my face for the entire duration, but I can definitely say that was the case with Sugar. This is a truly, truly silly series, but it's just too good-natured to dislike. Every character is just a joy to watch

I plowed through the Blue Submarine No. 6 box set last night and I thought it was a very good story: it goes against the "beautiful but shallow" hallmark of Gonzo Studios by being beautiful but a little bit deeper.
